Hello.
Hello. I’m Jean Nevills and I have been hosting souls in spiritual direction for over 30 years. I am a Listener and learner with a seminary degree and certificates in Spiritual Formation, Spiritual Direction and Supervision. My own pursuit of Divine Presence led me on inner adventures in solitude and silence, to community rhythms in quiet monasteries, and on pilgrimages to Africa, Asia, and Europe—all of which draw me home to God in my own back yard.
Hello.
I’m Jean Nevills, certified Spiritual Director. I have a Master’s degree in Christian Education and certificate in Spiritual Formation from the Renovare Institute. My own hunger and pursuit of the manifest presence of God has taken me on the inward adventure of solitude in the quiet of monastaries, and on geographical adventures as far away as Ethiopia, South Korea, and China—all of which draw me home to God in my own backyard.
ABOUT

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

A Spiritual Director acts as Listener, along with the directee, to the Real Director, God, who moves in loving and dynamic correspondence with the soul. A Director companions the directee on the journey to spiritual freedom and is challenged to grow also. She is someone who can listen when you’re struggling, grieving, longing for more. She is someone who can help you notice, hear, and grow closer to God in freedom, with integrity and joy. She is someone who understands your journey just enough to walk with you but not get in the way of the Mystery of God.

SUPERVISION
Fellow Spiritual Directors may seek supervision in conversation with an experienced peer who is compassionate, collaborative, and kind. The Supervisor helps Spiritual Directors to discern the wisdom of the Spirit, notice the hospitality of God, and savor their own encounter with Christ. Jean mentors, consults and accompanies Spiritual Directors in their call and practice with freedom and grace, sharing in the Mystery of holy listening that is spiritual direction.

SUGGESTED DONATION
Spiritual Direction is offered on a sliding scale from $35-$125 per hour. Supervision is offered on a sliding scale from $85-$125 per hour.

OUR RETREAT

Take time to retreat, to refrain for a set time from our lives as usual to rest our souls with God and learn from the trees and creatures and seasons a rhythm of living that is less burdensome and more serene.

It’s in this spirit we welcome you to our Garden Poustinia, a small place of sanctuary nestled in a nearby grove on our 30-acre property in Hillsboro, Oregon. Originally an Eastern Russian Orthodox tradition, a Poustinia serves as a hermitage, where one can go for hours of silence and solitude to pray and fast alone in the presence of God.

Ours is available for day use at a rate of $25 or overnight for $40. It comes with a full bathroom, linens, tea or coffee maker and small refrigerator.

We are grateful to the Atfalati people (Kalapuya tribes) who stewarded the Earth’s abundance in this region for hundreds of years and were the first people to honor it as sacred.
For Jesus said,
“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
